MILDURA recorded four new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.
The new cases take the Mildura local government area to a total of five active cases, including the one reported in Merbein over the weekend.
Of Wednesday’s cases, three were listed in the 3500 postcode which includes Mildura, and one in 3496, which incorporates Red Cliffs, Cardross, the Millewa and Cullulleraine.
According to response commander Jeroen Weimar, “three of those are all close contacts to each other, with some cross-border associations”.
“The fourth case is under investigation, as it came in late last night,” he added.
No exposure sites have been added yet, but a person with coronavirus attended Mildura Law Courts on Tuesday.

Also in Wednesday’s press conference, Health Minister Martin Foley announced Victoria will ease border restrictions with NSW and the ACT from tonight.
From 11.59pm on Wednesday, existing red zones in NSW and the ACT will be downgraded to orange zones, meaning returning Victorians only need to test and isolate until they receive a negative result, rather than quarantining for two weeks.
Extreme risk zones will be downgraded to red zones. The changes will have little impact for cross-border residents, however, as Sunraysia residents will still be able to cross the border using photo ID.
The Victorian Government will also buy 2.2 million rapid antigen tests to add to the state’s “ongoing toolkit”.
Victoria reported 1420 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths on Wednesday, taking the state to a total of 14,410 active cases. More than 90,000 people got vaccinated in Victoria on Tuesday – more than half the jabs given in the whole country for the day.
NSW reported 594 new cases and 10 deaths.
