MILDURA police say there have been no incidents during the traffic gridlock around Mildura's COVID-19 testing sites this week.
"We're spending a fair bit of time around those sites and are assisting in turning people away, when required, and working with the services delivering the tests," Superintendent Rebecca Olsen said on Tuesday.
"We're hoping that people will be patient, but we have advocated with our partners to increase testing rates.
"It's good to see the services are improving with the three sites today."
Supt Olsen said increased police patrols in the region were targeting people travelling from Melbourne.
"We are continuing to turn people around at the border," she said.
"But it's not the cross-border (that is the problem). It's the travellers from Melbourne.
"We haven't seen as many (border) breaches as we've seen from Melbourne. That's where the numberplate recognition is working really well for us."
