THIS year's Federal Budget gave families and children in rural and regional communities little to celebrate, according to Mallee Family Care.

"The need for a more comprehensive approach to reducing rural and regional disadvantage has been ignored," said the arenisation's chief executive officer Teresa Jayet said.
