CONCERNED members of the Dareton community have said they're resorted to carrying sticks, bricks and stones when out walking to protect themselves from roaming dogs.

Seven residents, who wished to remain nameless, said the problem had escalated particularly in the past year, and many were too scared to walk up the street in fear of being attacked.
