A "LARRIKIN" who ran an outback hotel, learnt to fly, became a self-taught artist, and had a passion for helping those less fortunate, has been acknowledged in this year's Australia Day Honours.

The late Peter Edward Greed was awarded an Order of the Medal of Australia for service to the community of the Mildura and Mallee regions and to the arts.
