DESCRIBED as the most imposing, substantial and well-built commercial brick building in Merbein, the Merbein Hotel has officially turned 100.

The first parts of the double-storey building cornering Fisher Lane, Game Street and Railway Avenue were built in 1921 as a no-alcohol accommodation facility known as Commercial House.
