RIDERS have started gearing up for the annual Motorcycle Toy Run with the collaboration between the Salvation Army and Ulysses Club set to take place this Saturday.

As part of the effort trailer in Mildura Central has been set up to gather presents ahead of the toy run, with space already filled multiple times.

"It brings a lot of joy and a smile to a child's face," Salvation Army Major Debbie Serojales said.

"It's a simple thing or us to do but an amazing memory for them.

"For parents too, when they include their kids it teaches them to see the needs of others around them."

There is a particular need for presents for teenagers, which can also be given by the donation of gift cards, with all presents across the Christmas Appeal distributed locally.

For the first time all riders will travel a 76km route from Mildura Central, across the bridge to Buronga, through Dareton to Wentworth, before rounding out back to Langtree Mall via Merbein.

"We're trying to incorporate a bit of a ride around the district, while parading the bikes," Ulysses Club Mildura branch president Ian Hehir said.

"We're just hoping people will come along."

All riders will assemble at the Mildura Central carpark at the corner of 15th Street and Deakin Avenue at 9.30am, to depart at 10.30am.

Along with the ride The Salvation Army will be holding a free barbecue in Langtree Mall, with special guests including organisation mascot Shieldy, as well as Santa and Mrs Clause.

Donations to the Salvos Christmas Appeal can also be made at the Kmart Wishing Tree, or through the Sunraysia Salvos Community page.
