James Aloysius Walder is well-known not only to people in Mildura and Australia, but also to the many friends he has acquired while travelling to various parts of the world to watch the Australian cricket team. Walder, who has watched more Test cricket and more VFL/AFL grand finals than most people could dream possible, talks about his life as a sports tragic with PHIL KETTLE.
JAMES Walder, 84, was born and raised on a fruit block in Merbein.
One of 12 children – seven boys and five girls – Walder remembers his early years being filled with happiness and lots of love.
