MILDURA youth advocate Shantelle Thompson and her Kiilalaana Foundation have been recognised for leading change in local young First Nations women.

Ms Thompson was recently announced as finalist for the Youth Workers Making a Difference and Outstanding Youth Projects categories at the Rural Youth Awards.

She said it had been a goal of hers to create a safe space for young First Nations women.
