Mildura residents might have noticed spots of orange popping up around town over the last few days.

The splashes of colour represent the campaign to end gender-based violence, as part of 16 days of activism currently underway around the world.

Court Network Mildura coordinator Chris Howe said violence against women contributes to a large amount of cases in Sunraysia's court system.
