Sports Star boxer Toutai scores first-up win

HENRY Toutai has been selected as the February winner of the Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year.

At the first Boxing South Australia tournament for 2023, Henry competed for the 80kg Elite Challenge Belt and had an impressive win against a very tough fighter.

His power and tight defence proved too much for his opponent, with Toutai landing an overhand punch that buckled his opponent’s legs on the buzzer.

He attended a selection camp the following day and was chosen for the South Australian Futures squad.

The SA squad has 12 boxers, three of whom are from the Toutai family and Ladd’s Boxing Club.

Toutai was a part of the team to represent South Australia in Sydney at the King of the Ring Tournament in March.

As the February sports star winner, he receives a Sportspower voucher.
