TARGET Mildura will officially close its doors on Thursday, July 31.
A ‘massive’, everything-must-go clearance sale is being held during the store’s final trading days, amid the beginnings of building renovations.
Mildura is one of a number of stores converting to Kmart throughout the year, with many other locations closing doors completely.
“We understand these closures will affect a lot of people and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during these challenging times,” a spokesperson for Target said.
“We are proud to have a rich history and are committed to serving our valued customers now and into the future, through our remaining Target stores or online with the same ease and convenience.”
Target opened in Mildura in September 1982, at the time the largest Target store in Australia with an original roster of 185 staff, including 95 in permanent positions.
Kmart is expected to move from its current location in Mildura City Heart into the soon-to-be cleared space, with an opening projected for early October.
