Irymple micro brewery proposal

A PLANNING application has been lodged with Mildura Rural City Council seeking to establish a licensed microbrewery at the former Wooden Door Cafe in Irymple.

A business named Sunneva Brewing is hoping to occupy the space at 2137 Fifteenth Street, and produce craft beer.

The application, prepared by Bill Ypelaan Residential and Engineering Drafting, detailed plans to produce between 500 and 1500 litres of craft beer at the site per week.

The applicant did not wish to modify the existing indoor seating and kitchen areas, but sought to extend the existing cool room, and remove a verandah to construct a new brewing room from insulated panels.

The proposal described plans to serve craft beers to patrons in a relaxed atmosphere, as well as light meals, snacks, and non-alcoholic drinks.

A small quantity of the craft beer would also be supplied to external sources.

The site, which had been vacant for the past two years, seats approximately 60 people inside the building, and another 90 in the outdoor terrace area.

Proposed trading hours were within 7am to 11pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 11pm Sunday, and hours would be finalised in a producers liquor license application, which will be lodged if the planning permit was successful.

The responsible authority will not make a decision on the application before the 22nd of April.
