Local schnity biz expands menu

AN OLD favourite has found a new home at Mildura Central.

G & T Kitchen, formerly known as G & T Schnitzels, began operating out of the front cafe at the shopping centre’s southwest entrance earlier this month with a new breakfast and lunch

menu.

General manager Travis Lindsay said he had been in conversation with Mildura Central management for a while with the intention of opening a venue at the shopping centre.

“We’ve had an opportunity over the last couple of months to get something happening,” he said.

“It’s a chance to do something a bit different with breakfast and lunch.”

Mr Lindsay said reign over the new menus was given to one of the chefs with more cafe experience than himself.

“I’m a bartender not a barista,” he said. “I gave him full creativity and he’s absolutely nailed it.

“We’ve got great staff, and the food always comes out presented spectacularly on the plate.

“I’ve always believed that service has to be good for a good breakfast, and everyone seems to be enjoying it.

“There’s been a lot of positive feedback, a fair bit of buzz so far which is great.”

With G & T Kitchen also operating under Mario’s Bar at the Grand, Mr Lindsay said he was excited about the long term opportunities on the horizon.

“We’re planning to renovate the cafe in a couple of months to open nights as well,” he said,

“We love it there at Mario’s as well, the clientele between both venues are very different but I think the two can co-exist in the town.”
