Cann Group packs it in

A NEW automated multi-head filler deployed at Cann Group’s medicinal cannabis facility in Mildura has reached a significant milestone.

Since coming online in August this year, it has packed about 25,000 units.

The company said the equipment is among a range of efficiency measures taken in 2024, and reduced labour costs to filling and manufacturing by about 90 per cent.

Compared to manual packing, the machine takes about 88 hours less time to pack 9000 units, in varying jar sizes.

The filler has 14 heads, and uses an automatic filling system which analyses the weight of flowers.

It has the capability of filling 9000 units within a single shift.

Cann chief executive Jenni Pilcher said the machine can better support the company’s customer base by reducing turn-around times for products.

“The implementation of the multi head filler is another key milestone in our plans to accelerate revenue growth and reduce overheads,” Ms Pilcher said.
