THE Midway Market Place IGA at Buronga has been named the National Medium IGA Store of the Year.
It was one of two awards the supermarket took out at the 2024 IGA Awards of Excellence, as the store also claimed the title of having the National Medium Delicatessen Department of the Year.
The store also was considered for the National Medium Grocery & General Merchandise Department of the Year category, which eventually went to an IGA in the New South Wales’ Hunter region.
IGA Midway Buronga first opened its doors to the public in June 2020, and the efforts of manager Robyn Morrison and her team have been commended.
“We are delighted to have our store and our amazing team recognised,” Ms Morrison said.
“They work so hard, doing whatever they can to meet the needs of the locals and without them this would not be possible.
“And this award isn’t just about our team – it is also testament to our wonderful community who have taken ownership of the store and have supported us since day one.
“We can’t wait to celebrate with our local community.”
The awards ceremony, the 25th National IGA Awards of Excellence, took place on the Gold Coast on July 15.
