Forever fashion pieces now in store

GEORGIA Vartuli’s dream of running her own fashion store in Mildura has become a reality.

In 2019, the former Iggy and Zee manager decided she wanted to study, and moved to Adelaide for three years to pursue a Bachelor of Fashion, Fashion Design and Visual Merchandising.

Returning to Mildura, she gained a certificate in personal styling and then jumped at the opportunity to open a boutique store at 7/141 Eighth Street.

Rae and Audrey launched on Saturday, June 24, and aims to provide sustainably-minded resort fashion to Sunraysia.

“Working with brands and artisans and people who are creating pieces a bit more like your forever pieces,” Ms Vartuli said.

“I hope to, in the future, inject my own label which will also have that touch of resort plus your wardrobe staples and elevated basics as well.”

Ms Vartuli is looking to promote slow fashion, by focusing on affordable Australian labels which focus on longevity, versatility and natural fibres where possible.

“Lots of these brands you will see on the coast,” Ms Vartuli said.

“These are brands I’ve worn for years and I love, and I really wanted to have my own store and represent them.”

Ms Vartuli said there’s a misconception in the fashion industry that you have to be in a particular city or country to make a mark.

She said with obsession, hard work and determination you can break into the fashion industry no matter your location.

“I’ve got a few brands that are on their way, and we’re going to do some special in-store launches,” Ms Vartuli said

“Down the track, I’d love to bring industry professionals, people who’ve worked in business or designers themselves, stylists, I’d love to bring them to Mildura and host events.

“I’d really love to bring that here so people can experience it.”
