Robinvale accommodation on the way

MURRAY Valley Aboriginal Co-operative is constructing four accommodation units for medical staff in Robinvale.

Currently being constructed in Red Cliffs, the accommodation will be delivered to Robinvale once completed.

The project is a Families, Fairness and Housings Department initiative stemming from funding through the fourth round of the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund.

The project has been recognised for the valuable contribution made by MVAC to the community, especially regarding the provision of primary health care, allied health and family services programs to the local Aboriginal community.

It highlights the need for accommodation for staff in the community especially in regards to health services.

MVAC chairperson Uncle Fred Baxter said he was grateful to DHHS for the grant

“They have my gratitude and appreciation — we are so thankful for DHHS support to accommodate medical specialists in our town,” he said.

The units will be located close the MVAC health services.
