A good time to op shop around

ALONGSIDE this week’s store launch of Connecting2Australia – an opportunity shop on Fifteenth Street – several local residents took to the Mildura community page on Facebook, swapping details for other second-hand and vintage stores in Sunraysia.

There are a dozen thrift shops in Mildura.

The Australian Red Cross Op Shop at 104 Langtree Avenue was a popular mention.

And the Salvation Army Thrift Shop, Shop 9, 636 Fifteenth Street, was described by shopper Leigh Seely as “huge, very well organized” and with great bargains.

MS Community Shop at 120 Lime Avenue is rated four out of five stars on Google.

Jemma Jackrot said in a Google review MS was a great op shop.

“Very impressed that the women’s clothing is all organised by size,” Ms Jackrot said.

“Be sure to check out the new arrivals rack at the back.

“They also have a great selection of accessories and homewares.

“The service was charming … I absolutely will be back.”

Other stores in Mildura include Vinnies at 79 Lime Avenue, RSPCA Op Shop at 105 Lime Avenue, Little Sprouts Op Shop and Cafe at 37 Pine Avenue, Cash Converters at 56 Lime Avenue, Around Again at 13 Scherger Drive, Burns and Co at 107 Eighth Street and the general store at SRS Benetook Farm.

Irymple is home to the Anglican Second Choice Op Shop at 2135 Fifteenth Street.
