Mildura KFC getting a new look

ONE of Mildura’s most popular fast-food outlets is undergoing a major makeover.

Renovations at Deakin Avenue’s KFC started early this month and are expected to be completed next Friday.

The renovations are a complete overhaul and include new paint work, updated signs to bring the restaurant in line with the new KFC brand standard, updates to the front counter, new external digital menu boards and two new self-order kiosks.

“We’ve redone the inside, fitted it out with new fittings and new materials,” RG Restaurants project and development co-ordinator Jayne Hanssord said.

Since renovations started, customers have not had access to the restaurant area, but the drive-through has remained open.

Ms Hanssord said the Deakin Avenue KFC had now been at the location for 10 years and was due for a major upgrade.

“With our franchises we do an upgrade every five years, which is a minor one, and then at 10 years we do a major one,” she said.

Ms Hanssord sad it was important to do these upgrades to maintain the existing restaurants and continue to deliver good customer service.

The Irymple KFC store is also set to gain some self-order kiosks this week.

“They’ll be doing that at around about the same time they’re doing the Mildura store,” Ms Hanssord said.

“We’re trying to keep up with the technology and introduce a more customer-focused experience.”
