Seniors get together in Robinvale

SENIORS in the Robinvale community are being encouraged to get involved in a new Catch-Up Club.

The Swan Hill Rural City Council (SHRCC) initiative is aimed at getting aged people get out of their homes and being social.

“Members are getting out of their homes and meeting new people but they are also getting the chance to learn new skills like cooking,” SHRCC social support leader Carolyn Harrop said.

“Many of our members come away from the get together feeling surprised at what they can still do.

“Catch-Up Club enables members to do things that they may have done in the past and it makes them feel worthy and independent.”

The Robinvale club meets every third Tuesday of the month at the senior citizens’ building in Robin Street, starting at 10am. Lunch is included.

“Anyone over the age of 65 years that is interested in joining a Catch-Up Club can get in contact with me to find out more,” Ms Harrop said.

For information, call Carolyn Harrop on 5036 4700.
