All go for $20m Trentham Cliffs RV park and truck stop plan

A $20 million RV park and truck stop development in Trentham Cliffs has been given a long-awaited tick of approval and is due to begin construction by Easter.

The truck stop component of the development was originally approved by Wentworth Council in January 2019, but was awaiting approval for the RV section of the project.

Arran Sparkes of GSD Architects said the firm had been given the go-ahead for the full development late last year.

“Just prior to Christmas we received all of the development approval from Wentworth Council,” he said.

“It can be a lengthy process with different government agencies’ involvement.”

The site will include a truck and car Caltex service station equipped with a restaurant, toilets and shower facilities.

The RV park was proposed to have a water park and facilities for short and longer-stay residents.

Mr Sparkes said he estimated the development would take a minimum of 12 months once it began construction.

“We are hoping construction will start around Easter time and I would say it will take about 12 months or more.”

The development is estimated to produce between 40 and 60 permanent jobs and will compete with the nearby Buronga service station.
