MILDURA has been buzzing over the last couple of months, as major events draw tourists to the area.
Events such as the Goanna Run, Professional Bull Riding, Wakeboard State of Origin and the Ted Hurley Ski Race have seen visitors and locals alike enjoying what Sunraysia has to offer.
Mildura Regional Development CEO, Brett Millington, said such events are hugely beneficial to the region’s tourism industry.
“When more and more nationally known events make their way to the region, it puts us top of mind to the domestic traveller,” he said.
Mr Millington believes major events also provide much-needed social opportunities for locals.
“In this current climate it can also be a good way for locals going through some tough times due to the drought, to get off the farm and enjoy themselves,” he said.
The fun is set to continue with Mildura Beerfest this Saturday, which is expected to draw hundreds to Sandilong Park tomorrow.
