Mildura Brewery future unclear after Broo talks outsourcing

BROO Limited has not confirmed it will sell the Mildura Brewery despite its annual report saying it would move to outsourcing.

Broo representatives declined to comment yesterday, however its June annual report released on Monday showed another disappointing year for the company.

Broo’s annual report announced it was in negotiations to outsource its brewing requirements and would no longer do it onsite at Mildura Brewery.

“The outsourcing arrangement removes the consolidated entity’s requirement to retain its Mildura brewing plant,” the report said.

“Once the outsourced brewing arrangement is in place, the consolidated Mildura operations value can be realised.”

At one stage the company also acquired land and had plans for an ‘eco-brewery’ in Ballarat, but it is unclear if that will go ahead. It has also placed its Sorrento Brewhouse up for sale.

Broo purchased the Mildura Brewery in 2017 for $1 million.
