KMART in Mildura will reopen on Thursday after a fire forced the store to close for more than two weeks.
A Kmart spokesman told Sunraysia Daily on Tuesday the store would also continue free shipping on standard orders and pay the team of employees until Thursday’s opening.
“We are pleased to confirm that Kmart will be reopening on Thursday. We’d like to thank our customers for their patience over the past couple of weeks in these unfortunate circumstances,” the spokesman said.
Earlier in September, four fire crews were called to the store’s loading dock in Gallagher Lane between Lime and Pine avenues.
Following an intensive week-long investigation, a teenager was charged over the fire which caused more than $100,000 worth of structural damage to store.
Mildura Fire Brigade also confirmed smoke from the fire would have likely caused significant damage to stock.
The 17-year old boy was released on strict conditions including that he reside at a fixed address, not consume alcohol and abide by a curfew.
Normal trading hours will resume from Thursday, with the store opening at 8am to 10pm.
