IT will be dried fruit and nuts galore from Mildura’s farms at Mildura CBD’s newest shop.
Following the success of a small shop connected to The Shed in Red Cliffs, Craig Urand decided it was time to open a second shop, Mildura Farms.
“We thought it was a great opportunity and something we had been looking to do for a couple of years,” he said.
“This will be a stand-alone shop with a focus on predominantly locally grown produce and, when it can’t be sourced locally, we will look to get it elsewhere.”
Mr Urand said while the store would sell mostly dried fruit and nuts, there would be occasional seasonal fresh produce.
“There will be all sorts of dried nuts, particularly almonds in all varieties, and a range of fruits from sultanas to apricots and pears,” he said.
“There will be both retail packs and wholesale.
“Since the bigger fruit and nut shops have closed down, the produce isn’t readily available anywhere else.”
Mr Urand said he felt excited about his new venture, which he hoped would be as popular as the Red Cliffs store.
Mildura Farms, on Eighth Street between Langtree Mall and Bowrings Lane, will open today at 9.30am and is expected to be open daily Monday to Saturday.
