Tourism numbers rise

INTERNATIONAL travellers are leading a surge in the number of people visiting the Mildura-Wentworth region.

Visitors spent 2.5 million nights in Mildura and Wentworth for the year ending March – an increase of 34 per cent or 634,000 nights on the previous year.

International visitors contributed an additional 175,000 bed nights (up 31.3 per cent) against the previous year, totalling 736,000 nights for the year to March.
