LAST Friday, the All Abilities Lawn Bowls Carnival returned to the Mildura greens.
The event, coordinated and supported by Mallee Sports Assembly and Mildura Workers Bowls, was divided into two competitions: one for students from Mildura Specialist School in the morning, and another for adult groups in the afternoon.
In the morning, students played in groups of three or four, aiming to complete as many ends as possible within the one-hour timeframe.
Points were awarded based on how close their bowls were to the white ball.
Felix Blanchard took first place, while Raymond Rogers claimed second, both representing Mildura Specialist School.
The afternoon session saw some tough competition in a singles event, with participants from Sunraysia Residential Services and the All Abilities Bowls program.
Split into two divisions, in the first division we saw a close game between Rohan Reimers, Jack Vagg and Bradley Considine, with some fantastic bowling on display.
Rohan ultimately finished in first place by a handy margin.
In the second division, the competition was won by regular participants Belinda D’Orazio and Daniel Jones.
All the participants and staff who assisted with the matches enjoyed the day and will be back again next year.
Mallee Sports Assembly would like to thank Workers Bowls Club, and especially David Robertson, for hosting the event, providing volunteers to score and assist participants and supplying a barbecue for everyone in both sessions.
