By Chris Mitchell

RED Cliffs have put a stitch in the side of the Irymple Suns with a barnstorming win at the Tigers den in round 2 of Sunraysia Saturday Pennant bowls.

Michael Clifford’s rink of Ian Lowes, Geoff Peters and Glenn Jopling were convincing winners over Chris Madigan, playing his first game at skip in Division 1.

Madigan’s team of Terry Bourke, Darren Cordwell and Greg Brown, going down 15-34, had no answers for the Clifford rink.

Maurie Press chimed in with a 22-19 win over Matt West. Graham Lynch flew his team of Darren Cass, Anthony Kelly and Trev Flack under the radar to pick up two points for the Suns defeating Trev Clarke 25-19.

The Hawks flew home with a 67(10) to 63(2) victory to honour their late mate.

Mildura welcomed the Two Blues to the House of Magic. Ian ‘Butch’ Pollock lead the Magic with an inspired skipping performance that opened the window for the home side.

With a brilliant exhibition of draw bowling on a 17-second green, Pollock had the game in his hand steering his rink to a 37-10 win over Alan Crook.

Coomealla fired a shot against Nangiloc when Mark Deakin pulled off a 29-14 win over legend Al Erskine to give the Cannons a break.

Toby Moore counteracted for the ’Loc with a 22-18 win over Adrian Barko. Ben Mansell stepped up to skip for the ’Loc to record a win 24-15 over Brandon Tyers.

The Cannons got home by two 68(8) to 60(4).

Mildura at home to Ouyen were solid winners 88(10) to 63(2).

Master mover for the Magic was the rink skipped by Reg Gardner, Judy Osborne, Rob Hanns and Fran Richards, who recorded a 38-21 win over Rod Poole’s rink.

Euston 3 side received a forfeit from Irymple 4 side.

Coomealla were far too good for Mildura 5 with a convincing 70 (8) to 28(0) victory.
