Champs face off in Fours finals

BOWLS Sunraysia’s Champion of Champions Fours winners will be determined at Coomealla Bowls Club on Sunday.

In the women’s final, Marg Dominelli, Margaret McGlashan, Lorraine Nancarrow and June Spry of Red Cliffs take on Ouyen’s Lorraine Hickmont, Sue Kelly, Ning Pitcher and Joan Pohlner.

The Red Cliffs team secured a tight 18 to 15 shot win over the Coomealla team of Neva Cooke, Delwyn Milner, Gloria Stephenson and Jeannette Tisler in their semi-final, while the Ouyen team were impressive in their 23-7 victory over the Underbool team of Marie Cummings, Colleen Gloster, Wendy Stone and Raelene Winslow.

The men’s Fours are at the semi-final stage, with the top two teams to face-off later in the afternoon.

The Euston team of Doug Brown, Dion Morgan, Shane Ryan and Tony Scott come up against the Mildura quarter of Corey Bettess, Mark Eckel, Garry Holmes and John Huxtable.

In the other semi, Rodger Anderson, Barry Dean, Reg Dean and Don Pohlner of Ouyen collide with the Red Cliffs team of Bill Christensen, Trevor Clarke, Michael Clifford and Simon Morgan.
