FANS flocked to the Mildura Sporting Precinct yesterday to watch some of the best female athletes in the country battle it out in the nation's elite level basketball competition.

Yesterday's game between the Bendigo Spirit and Sydney Flames marked the third straight year in which a Women's National Basketball League game had been played in the region.
