DARETON three-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Shantelle Thompson has added another accolade to her belt, being named the national NAIDOC Sportsperson of the Year.
The mother of three, who lives in Melbourne but calls Sunraysia home, was presented the award at the National NAIDOC Awards in Canberra on Saturday night.
She attended the ceremony with her two sisters, from Mildura and Wollongong, and said it was an amazing honour and one that would stay with her.
