THE curtain came down on the week-long Mildura-Wentworth Country Music Festival on Saturday night with organisers thrilled at its success after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19.

Organiser David Storer, from Mildura Entertainment, said crowd numbers throughout the region "far exceeded" expectations, and plans were already on the cards for a bigger and better event next year.
