MERBEIN defender Jeremy Weinert admits his football career is likely over after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Mentally I’m not ready to give it away but I think physically my body is telling me it’s time
Weinert suffered the season-ending injury at training last week, which followed several surgeries on his other knee over recent years.
He will see a surgeon in Adelaide next Tuesday to determine the full extent of the injury and likely recovery time and rehabilitation, which will shape a decision on his future.
