Trip away helps Douglas’s play

SPENDING virtually a full season away from the game in Europe last season probably came just at the right time for two-time Imperials premiership player Alex Douglas.

On the back of grand final losses in 2014 and 2015 and battling injury, Douglas played just two games at the start of the 2016 season before jet-setting to England where he spent the Northern Hemisphere summer travelling around Europe.

Back Down Under and relishing a new role in attack and on the ball, Douglas’ form peaked in a must-win contest against the Robinvale/Euston Eagles at the weekend to be best afield.
