IMPERIALS’ season stands on a knife edge after the club’s shock SFNL loss to Merbein on Saturday was compounded by playing coach Brad Hards being reported.

Hards was reported by field umpire Jamie Rodgers in the third quarter of his side’s 16-point defeat at Kenny Park on a charge of carelessly striking Merbein’s Brendan Guy.

Carelessly striking carries a set penalty of one week, which would rule Hards out of the Green and Whites’ do-or-die clash with Irymple, however, the club will contest the charge on Wednesday night at the independent tribunal.
