Eyes shift to soaring Merbein’s Ash Rowe

WINNING a McLeod Medal makes it hard to go unnoticed.

Merbein’s Ash Rowe says his end-of-season accolade put an end to any hopes of avoiding the close attention of opposition sides this year.

“Last year, I probably flew under the radar a little bit,” he said. “Now they know who you are.”

The young forward was jointly awarded the SFNL’s highest honour alongside Wentworth’s Derek Smith and Irymple’s Nathan Hamence at the end of 2016.
