Top sides chase edge

THE A Grade finals race is hotting up and today’s game between Irymple and Merbein will put things into perspective for several teams vying for the elusive top-four spot.

Merbein dominated the teams’ round 7 encounter with a 51-38 win, as an unsettled Irymple side struggled to convert strong midcourt work into goals.

The teams are equal first on points, only separated by 2.6 per cent and a win for either team will almost certainly secure a spot in the finals with two games to go.
