ROBINVALE/Euston have qualified for their first finals series as a combined club after a hard-running win over an outworked Wentworth at George Gordon Oval.
Although the result was never in doubt after quarter time, the Eagles still had to win by enough and then rely on Mildura beating Imperials by enough to jump into fourth spot.
In the end it was an incredibly close run with the final make up of the top four not known until Robinvale/Euston club officials received the final scores from City Oval allowing them to do the calculations on their smartphones and start the celebrations.
Robinvale/Euston coach Trent Fiscalini who confirmed that he was leaving John James Oval at the completion of this season, was happy with his side’s first three quarters.
“I thought we moved the ball out of defence really quickly and efficiently today with long passes hitting their targets,” he said.
