IT can be a thankless job, but three Sunraysia umpires received due recognition at the league’s night of nights this week.
Seasoned veteran Michael Breewel (field), Caleb Garraway (boundary) and Erin Williams (goal) took out the respective SFNL Umpire of the Year awards.
Breewel, who was been umpiring football for 30 years, thanked the league for its “phenomenal” support, as well as the clubs.
“I ran around in the Bendigo footy league for 17 years then joined up here and the support from the Sunraysia Football League is way beyond belief,” he said.
