FORMER Essendon VFL captain and joint McLeod Medal runner-up Daniel Coghlan says his slow start at Wednesday night’s vote count could be attributed to him settling in his new surrounds.
After polling four votes in the first three rounds of the season, Irymple recruit Coghlan then did not poll a vote again until round 12 (Irymple had one bye and Coghlan missed a game in that time).
“A few of the boys were stirring me up, saying I left it a bit late,” Coghlan said. “I always thought it took me a while to adjust probably to country footy again.”
