AFL: Bomber flying high

KOBE Mutch could barely contain his excitement after kicking his first AFL goal.

After hacking a ball mid-air in the goal square to give Essendon the lead during Saturday’s clash with Hawthorn, Mutch was a picture of delight.

“I was shocked I guess,” Mutch said yesterday at a footy clinic in Ouyen.

“As soon as I felt it come off my boot and it went through, and heard the Essendon cheer squad go off, I was just jumping for joy.

“The celebration was a bit of carry-on but that’s passion for you I guess.”

The former Wentworth footballer, who moved to Gol Gol as a teenager, grew up supporting the Bombers.
