Patch work . . . but finals move ‘definitely hasn’t been ruled out’

THE SFNL hasn’t ruled out moving this year’s grand final from City Oval due to a surface some coaches have labelled “terrible” and “disgusting”.

After a meeting with Mildura Council representatives on Thursday night, measures have been drawn up to ensure the venue is in the best possible condition by September 15, when it is set to host preliminary final matches.

A high-traffic area of the ground – the forward 50 metres at the San

Mateo Avenue end – will now be roped off each Monday morning, blocking access during the week.
