MEMBER for Mildura Jade Benham has landed a spot on the Victorian Parliament’s Public Accounts and Estimates Committee.
The nine-person committee is chaired by Labor member Sarah Connolly and includes parliamentarians from both the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council.
“I am honoured to join the Public Accounts and Estimates Committee and to take on this vital role in holding the Government accountable for its spending and policies,” Ms Benham said.
“As the local representative for Mildura, I think this illustrates my commitment to fighting for regional Victoria to get a fair share of investment.”
The committee is made up of five Labor party members, two Liberals including deputy chair Nick McGowan, a Green and Ms Benham as the only National Party MP.
Committee members are currently considering a number of key reports including looking into local government corruption and the State’s finances.
