Imperials sign SANFL premiership player Mason Middleton

IMPERIALS have pulled off a mid-season recruiting coup with the signing of West Adelaide premiership player Mason Middleton.

Middleton, 26 joins former teammates Adam Hartlett and Dave Hankin at City Oval.

West Adelaide released the talented big man after a brief meeting on Thursday night, only days before the June 30 cut off for clearances.

The key forward was “sounded out” by Hartlett after Imperials’ 12-point loss to Ouyen United in round nine.

“After the Ouyen (United) game and just having a lack of forward structure I spoke to Dave Hankin just about any players in Adelaide we might be able to get across for the remainder of the year and hopefully beyond,” Hartlett said.

“So he got back to me with a bloke by the name of Mason Middleton who I played in a premiership with at West Adelaide.

“He’s a big key forward who can ruck at SANFL level.”

Middleton was named in the Adelaide Advertiser top 50 players at the start of this season.
