High praise: Young Tiger wows club’s big guns

RICHMOND Football Club heavyweights are quietly confident 2016 joint McLeod medallist Derek Eggmolesse-Smith is ready for an AFL debut.

The 21-year-old, who shared the SFNL’s league best and fairest with Merbein’s Ash Rowe and Irymple’s Nathan Hamence in 2016 while also winning the rising star award that year, has put together a solid VFL season with the Tigers.

Richmond’s general manager of football Neil Balme told Sunraysia Daily yesterday he was a big fan of the Wentworth District Football Club product.
