Chris aims to get fitness business moving

SUNRAYSIA resident Chris Brown is proving that no goal is too unrealistic after launching his new fitness business, Fun and Fitness with Chris.

Mr Brown, who lives with autism spectrum disorder, has had his sights set on helping people of all abilities reach their fitness goals for a number of years.

Now fully certified with the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers, Mr Brown is one step closer to making his dream become a reality.

“It’s always been a dream for me to get my business up and running,” Mr Brown said.

“I did a course with MADEC and that’s what has guided me through and taught me about business.”

Mr Brown attributed his positive mind-set and physical ability to staying active and hoped to encourage others to “never give up”.

“Fitness is helping me both mentally and physically. I’d like to see in the future many people with all abilities give it a go so their dreams can come true like mine have now,” he said.

“Through my fitness sessions, they can enjoy getting their exercise and looking at the future in a positive way.”

The next step in moving forward with the business was to find a mentor with fitness experience, according to Mr Brown.

“I’m looking to see if I can get a personal trainer as a mentor to help me mentor and guide my business. If they can give me advice in exercising, I’m open to that too,” he said.

“Hopefully, with more sponsors coming on board too — along with a mentor — I can get the business running soon.”

His mother Deb Brown hoped he would find a suitable mentor to lend a helping hand.

“I’d really like to see one of the gyms take him on and mentor him,” she said.

“Chris really wants to help others with a disability and he’s been talking about starting a business for a number of years. He has such a positive attitude and I’m really proud of him.”
