One-day games, two-day rules in SCA this weekend

WHILE this weekend’s Sunraysia Cricket Association fixture will be played on one day, it will still remain under two-day conditions.

Saturday was scheduled to be day two of round 8 for First Division and Second Division, and day two of round 3 for Third Division and Fourth Division, however day one at the weekend was declared a washout.

Under SCA rule 28.9 in two-day competition where a particular match is unable to begin on the first scheduled day, that match will revert to one day of cricket on the second scheduled day.

Teams will wear white clothing, a red ball will be used and each side will be entitled to face half of the total match overs remaining with bonus points allocated as for the standard two-day fixtures in that grade.

So, in First Division, an innings will be 40 overs, Second Division 35 overs and in Third and Fourth divisions an innings will close at a maximum of 30 overs.

There are no restrictions to bowlers and teams still have the ability to declare their innings closed and claim bonus points where applicable.
