Irymple 0/97 d Coomealla Wentworth 96
IT WAS the Bryson Lush show in a comprehensive 10-wicket win by Irymple over Coomealla Wentworth at Henshilwood Oval.
Lush backed up his 4/23 in Coomealla Wentworth’s innings – which came to an end on 96 in the 38th over – with a brisk 67 not out off 60 balls as the Swallows wrapped up their run chase in the 17th over.
Coomealla Wentworth captain Justin Freeman made 42 of his team’s runs but his side’s bowlers simply could not make any inroads, defending a small total.
Workers Gol Gol 172 d Nichols Point 8/161
WORKERS Gol Gol suffered a scare but in the end were able to hold on for an 11-run win over Nichols Point at Alcheringa.
Recovering from 5/64, the hosts were once again best served by Wade Hancock, who made 68 not out.
Veteran Pointer Aaron Sayers took 3/33 from eight overs to earn plaudits for his side.
Jake Albrecht (30) and Nick Jensen (26) also chipped in for a team total of 172.
A knee injury to coach Shaun Mathews while fielding robbed the Pointers of a key batsman, with captain Brad Thomas (72) and import Kaushik Aphale (25) doing their bit only for the side to fall just short of an upset win.
Jensen’s 3/26 was a key factor for Workers Gol Gol.
