Mildura RSPCA op shop moves to ‘perfect spot’

THE RSPCA op shop will reopen in Mildura on Thursday, in a new and improved space.

The business shut its doors at 72 Lime Avenue early last December and has moved to 105 Lime Avenue.

Shop co-ordinator Liz Irvine said the team was excited about the move.

“We just couldn’t trade in that store anymore,” she said.

“We still wanted to keep a presence in Mildura, because it’s been a really supportive area for us and we wanted to keep our volunteers engaged with the RSPCA.

“We went and found a space that was near the main trading area and we think we have found the perfect spot.”

The store will sell traditional op shop items including recycled clothing and footwear, and Ms Irvine said the Mildura store would also look to trade unique items and antiques if available.

The store will accept donations during business hours, 9am-4.30pm Monday to Friday and 10am-1pm on Saturday.

All funds raised through the store go back to the RSPCA fund for distribution.

Ms Irvine said community support for the store had been overwhelming and volunteers were excited about reopening to the public.

“We would really like to thank the community,” she said.

“We have had some really good feedback and they are happy to see us reopening the store.

“We have had some regulars over many years and we are looking forward to seeing them again and we want to thank our team of fantastic volunteers.”
